BECOME A PATRON

This documentary would not be possible without community support. Right from the start, people have come forward with offers of assistance. It’s humbling to us as filmmakers, but it’s also obvious that people want this story to be told.

As a patron of DRESDEN 1957, you will impact the success of this project.

WHAT IS A PATRON?

A DRESDEN 1957 patron is someone who makes a gift of $5,000 or more towards completion of this documentary film. Patrons can be individuals, companies, or organizations who believe that this story should not be forgotten. Public recognition of your generosity is important to us: we will thank patrons on our social channels, at public events, and in the film credits.

YOUR SUPPORT HAS IMPACT

Watch our progress

As a patron of Dresden 1957, you're enabling us to work full-time on this documentary. Typically a film like this takes 4-5 years to complete. We aim to finish in 3 years: The people in this story are in their 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s: We want them to be able to see it.

Finishing this film in 2025

We are transparent about what is being funded, our supporters, and our progress on this project. For example, our crowdfunding campaign in June 2024 raised $78,000, which allowed us to complete principal photography by the end of the summer.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

So this story is never again forgotten

We’re unlikely to ever recoup the costs of making this film. For us, our patrons, and all of our supporters, the “return-on-investment” will be the film itself, and the value that this story creates, both for the community today and for future generations tomorrow.

For future generations

By supporting Dresden 1957, you are helping ensure that this story, and stories like it, are not forgotten. As a patron, you are helping to save a piece of our shared history. You are contributing to greater awareness of workplace safety, especially around trenching and excavations, which continue to cost lives today.

ACKNOWLEDGING OUR PATRONS

We are grateful for your support. We acknowledge all of our patrons and crowdfunding supporters, either by name or by initials (for those who prefer to contribute anonymously) and will keep you posted on our progress.
