2025-26 Crowdfunding Campaign Reaches $60,000 Goal
Funding supports post-production on Dresden 1957

On April 28, 2026 this documentary project hit a major milestone when our crowdfunding campaign reached its target of $60,000. The funding is allowing the DRESDEN 1957 team to work full-time on post-production, moving the project towards completion, hopefully in 2027, the 70th anniversary of the Dresden disaster.
We are incredibly grateful to the growing community of supporters who are helping us tell this story.
What is Post-Production?
"Post-production" is everything that happens after filming is complete. For a documentary, especially one dealing with historical material, this includes weaving in archival material, such as news reels, photos, and documents. The team will also be creating 3D models to show the construction site as it looked in 1957, before and after the disaster.
The first stages of post-production are about editing together interviews and creating the scenes for the film. Once these have been roughed out, other footage and images are added. Once the imagery and information are in place, we will work with our composer to create the score for the film which will provide the rhythm and timing for what's called the "rough cut" of the film. That's the stage we aim to hit by the end of this year.
The video below explains the first stages of the editing process.

None of this would have been possible without crowdfunding support. Thank you!
